ALOO GOBI MASALA IN TOMATO ONION GRAVY




Aloo gobi masala in onion & tomato gravy,here i tried gravy type i grinded tomato and onion raw and mixed with aloo gobi ,which you can mix with rice and eat or eat as side dish for chapathi,roti,etc.,


Ingrediants;

1 gobi or califlower cut the florets and keep

2 aloo or potatoes cut into cubes

Salt as needed

Pinch of sugar

Seasoining;

1tbsp of oil

Sha jeera or normal jeera

1inch of cinamon

2 cloves

1 or 2 cardomom pods

1 bay leaf



Masalas needed:

Pinch of turmeric powder

1 tsp or as per spice red chilli powder

1/2 tsp & little more cumin or jeera powder

1/2 tsp & little more coriander or dhania powder

1 tsp garam masala powder

Others:

Kasoori methi

Coriander leves ( optional)

Lemon 1/2 juice ( optional)


For gravy:

1or 2 onions ( medium)

2 tomatoes medium size




Method;

1. Cut gobi and put it hot water mixed with little salt and turmeric and keep aside for 15 mins .( it helps to clean worms if there)

2. Remove skin of potatoes and cut into cubes and immerse in water and keep ,if you use little hot water it will be cooked little & while cooking it don’nt need more time for cooking.

3. Take  tomatoes and onions and grind into smooth paste by adding little water if needed. And keep.

4. Heat oil in a pan and add jeera when it splutters add other ingrediants listed above and fry. ( Notes:
here you can add tomatoes & onions chopped finely if you want to get in gravy while eating )

5. Then add potatoes and fry for few minutes , now add califlower or gobi and fry again for few minutes ( note; sprinkle little salt , which helps to cook faster) sprinkle very little water and mix and cover and leave it for cooking until done, saute in between that it doesnt stick to the bottom.

6. After veggies are cooked add tomato and onion gravy and mix well then add salt ( remember that you have added little before too) then add other masalas given above and mix well and leave it to boil until raw smell goes on medium low flame for few minutes.

7. If the gravy is very thin or watery mix 1/2 ttsp of cornflour or gramflour in water smoothly where lumps should not be there ,and mix it into grave and give stir and keep.

8, remove from flame and add lemon juice if needed and mix and lastly, add kasoori methi

9. Serve hot
