Millets are very healthy ,it is very useful for diabetics where has rich fibre in them,if you substitute in your daily food i thnk it will be verymuch helpful with your health.
Ingrediants;
1cup of barnyard millet
3cups of water
Veggies you like finely chopped.
For seasoining,
Oil and ghee little
Mustered seeds
Jeera
Curry leaves
Ginger,
Green chillies
Turmeric powder
Salt
Lemon
Coriander leaves
Grated coconut
Method.
1.firstly,wash millet with plenty of water 2 to 3 times and keep aside.
2. Heat oil in a pan and make seasoining.
3. Now add veggies one by one and fry and add water and cook until veggis done or you can cook veggies in cooker and add .
4. Now add salt,lemon juice and leave it to boil for few minutes
5now add washed millet slowly where lumps do not form and mix throughly,cover and cook under medium flame until millet is cooked completly.( millet takes time to cook)
6lastly add coriander leaves and grated coconut and mix and switch off the flame and keep covered for few more minutes.
7 serve barnyard millet upma with chutney or pickle.
