This rasam is where i have not used toordal,i made plain rasam using tomatoes,normally we cook toordal & add water & rasam powder & chopped tomatoes etc.,to prepare rasambut here slightly difference i made.....
Ingrediants:
3-4 medium large ripe tomatoes chopped into 4 pieces
2 to 2-1/2 tsp of rasam powder ( adjust accordingly)
Salt
Jaggry
1 tbsp of tamrind juice
Curry leaves
Seasoining;
1 tbsp ghee
1 tsp of jeera
1 red chilli
Coriender leaves for garnish
Method;
1. Grind tomatoes in mixture & add sufficiant water & make thin & bring to boil.
2. Let it boil for few minutes such that raw smell dissappears.
3. Now add rasam powder,curry leaves & leave it to boil for few more minutes.
4. Now add salt,jaggary,tamrind juice & mix and continue boiling for few more seconds.
5. Now remove & make seasoining & mix to the rasam.
6. Finally,garnish with coriender leaves.
7. You can drink as soup or serve with rice .
