Ottu shavige is also one of the famous dish ,normally this is done by using rice,but nowadays we r trying to make this shavige using different Ingrediants,here shavige you can call it as vermicellii.which is very soft & spongy texture,but it is little tricky & little difficult but if you spend few time for this final product surely u like it.
Ingrediants;
1 cup of chiroti rava
1 cup of buttermilk
1/2 cup of water
Pinch of salt
Seasoining;
1 tbsp of oil
1 tsp of mustered seeds
1 tsp of peanuts
1 tsp of channel
1 tsp of urad dal
1/4 tsp of turmeric powder
Few curry leaves
1 tbsp of lemon juice
2-3 chillies
1 tbsp of grated coconut
Coriander leaves for garnishing
Method
1. Soak rava in buttermilk & water overnight
2. Next day add pinch of salt & mix well,it should not be too thi ck or very thin it should be like dosabatter.
3. Now grease idli plates & pour batter ladle ful & steam it for 15 minutes & make idlies.
4. Now take shavige presser & put steamed idlies & press & make vermicellii or shavige ( but the idli
vessal with remaining idlies should be on flame dont switch of the flame because then the idlies will be very hard to press)
5. Now sprinkle little oil on pressed shavige & keep.
6. Prepare seasoining & mix slowly the pressed shavige & garnish & serve.
7. Adjust the seasoining as per your taste.
