MALLIGE IDLI

Normally idlies are done by using rice or idli rava & urad dal,but nowadays we can see many types of idlies done using different types of lentils,today i tried mallige idli which is wery soft & spongy & also color is pure white..


Ingrediants;

Idli rice 2 cups ( u can use normal rice)
Urad dal or uddina bele 1/2 cup
Sabudana or seemeakki 1/4 cup
Poha or avalakki 1/2 cup
Salt as required

Method;

1. Soak all ingredients for 3-4 hrs & grind to smooth paste by adding sufficiant water,batter should not be too watery or too thick. Keep for fermenting overnight.nextday you can see it will be doubled  & add sufficiant salt and mix throughly.

2. Greese idli plates with little oil & pour batter & steam cook in idli cooker for 15-20 minutes.

3. Switch of the flame & leave it like that for few minutes & remove .

4. Now serve hot with your favourite side.

5. To find doneness of idlies insert a spoon inserted in cold water & remove if spoon comes out clean without stikking any batter then it is done .
