Huli pudi or sambar powder,which is used to prepare sambar in which we include various types of veggies & served with rice or any other dish as side,here you can use any type of vegitables & also this powder can be used for preparing kinds of curries i.e, vegitable curries......
Ingrediants;
Coriander seeds 1 cup
Fenugreek seeds 2 tsp
Black gram dal ( urad dal) 1/2 cup
Bengalgram dal ( chanadal) 1/4 cup
Cumin seeds 1/4 cup
Red chilli 1&1/2 to 2 cups or as per spicy ( i use byadagi menacinakai you can use guntoor or mix of both)
2 strings of curry leaves or little more
Turmeric 1 tsp
Black pepper 1/2 tsp ( optional) ( you can add little less if you feel more spicy)
Dry coconut ( kobbari) 3/4 cup to 1 cup
Method;
1. Dry roast each and every ingredient seperately until nice aroma comes out.
2. Cool.
3. Mix everything & grind into smooth powder & once again mix with a spoon.
4. Store in a airtight box & use as required.
5. Shelf life 1 to two months ...if you refrigerate it will be more shelf life.
