WHOLE MOONG DAL CURRY


Whole moong dal or hesaru kalu which is in green colour,is very healthy & today i tried to prepare its curry basic i got from one blog & little change i have made it is very easy to prepare & tasty too & well goes with dosa,rottu,chapati etc., as side.


Ingrediants;

1 cup of green moong dal
( soaked for 1 hr)
1 medium onion finely chopped
1 medium tomato finely chopped
1 or 2 small green chilli slitted
1 bay leaf
1 cardamom
1 clove
1/2 " cinnamon
1/2 tsp jeera
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 to 1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp jeera powder
1/4 tsp ginger garlic paste
Salt as needed
Sugar for taste
1 tbsp or more lemon juice
Coriander leaves for garnishing

Method;

1. Cook moong dal ( hesarukalu) until soft.

2. Heat oil in a pan & add jeera,when it splutters add cloves,cinnamon,cardamom & bay leaf & fry then add onion & ginger garlic & fry until onion changes its color,

3. Then add tomato & cook until tomato is little soft then add all powders & mix then add cooked hesarukalu & mix well then add salt,sugar & mix then add lemon juice & mix nicely.

4. Check consistsncy of the gravy & add water the consistsncy is not too thick or watery,then you can add masala powders & salt ( check the taste)

5. Lastly garnish with coriander keaves & serve .
