SEEMEAKKI ROTTI

                                                                    ಸೀಮೆಅಕ್ಕಿ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ

Seemeakki/sabudana/sabbakki/sago ,in different places different names in english it is called as tapioca pearls,this is very healthy.& you can prepare many dishes from this & in some recipes it is used as binding agent,nature wise it is little sticky.in north side for fasting they prepare khichadi from this & vada,taleepit are also prepared by this,your imagination & creation using this & preparing dish,today i have prepared rotti,south indian breakfast,normally it is prepared by using akki or rice flour but here i made little twist by adding sabudana & tried to prepare,when i was searching web i was getting only taleepith or same as taleepeet big size rotti was made but i did not want to prepare like that so  i thought i will prepare regular rotti by adding rice flour to sabudana,ya ut came out very well & tasty.here it is.

Ingredients:

1 cup rice flour
1 cup sabudana or seemeakki soaked over night in curds + water
3/4 cup curds
1/4 cup water
Salt as needed
3-4 green chillies finely chopped
Curryleaves
Coriander leaves
1 tsp jeera
1/2 cup grated coconut
1 tbsp lemon juice
Pinch of sugar

Oil for making rotties

Method

1. Soak sabudana in mixture of curds & water over night ( if you need you can add little more water)

2. Next morning add rice flour & other ingredients given & mix nicely that everything mix evenly.
Keep covered for few minutes.

3. Take a dosa tava & brush some oil & take a medium size ball of dough & spread as much as thin ,i it starts sticking dip your palms in water & try to spread.

4. Cook on medium high flame until crisp & turn upside down & cook for few more minutes & remove,do same method for other remaining dough.( after making one rotti take tava under tap water upside down & pour water & cool)

5. Serve hot with any side you like.
