CHOLE MASALA


                                                                      ಚೋಲೆ ಮಸಾಲೆ

Chole masala or channa masala or punjabi chole,it is actually punjabi dish,served with bhatura or poori which is made by using maida,which is very good combination & very tast breakfast.very easy to prepare but should not forgot to soak channa or kabuli channa or dappa bili kadala one day before.otherwise it very easy & tasty....

Ingredients

1 cup chole or kabuli chenna ( soaked in sufficiant water over night)
1 medium big tomato chopped
1-2 medium onions chopped
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
Oil 1&1/2 tbsp
Salt as per taste
Pinch sugar

For masala

  • 2 Cardamom
  • 1 inch cinnamon 
  • 3 to 4 pepper
  • 2 cloves
  • 2-3 cashews
  • 1 medium bay leaf
  • ¼ tsp ajwain
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander seeds
  • 1 or 2 dry red chilies

For garnishing

Kasurimethi

1 medium lemon juice

Method

1. Soak kabuli chana over night & next day pressure cook by adding little salt & sufficient water until it is soft in texture.

2. Dry roast the things under masala & grind into smooth paste & keep.

3. In a pan heat oil & add ginger & garlic paste & fry then add onions & fry for few minutes & add tomatoes & fry until soft & cool the mixture & grind into smooth paste & keep .

4. Again heat little oil & fry the grinded mixture for few minutes & add grinded masala mixture & fry & leave it to boil for few minutes until fine aroma comes,then add cooked channa & mix & leave it to boil for few more minutes then add salt ( remember you will be adding while cooking channa) & sugar & mix.

5. Now take 2 ladle of channa masala mixture ( whole) & grind into smooth paste ( beware of hot)  & mix into channa masala mixture & boil for few more minutes & switch off the stove.

6. Now add lemon juice & mix then garnish with kasuri methi.

7. Serve hot with bhature.
