Avalakki tari means coarse powder of avalakki or poha,,by using poha we make many types of dishes like whole poha oggarane / seasoning,gojju avalakki,cutlet,huli avalakki,pongal ...........and this is also one method which you can make by making coarse powder of poha,when you are bore of same dishes of avalakki / poha.
Ingredients
1 cup thick avalakki
For seasoning
1-2 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustered seeds
5-6 green chillies finely chopped
1/2 tsp chanadal
1/2 tsp uraddal
1 tbsp peanuts
Few curry leaves
Others
Coriander leaves for garnishing
Salt as per taste pinch of sugar for taste
1/4 cup grated coconut
1 small lemon ( juice)
Method:
1. Firstly,coarsly grind avalakki in a mixie ( just pulse) and wash in sufficient water & drain & dont add any extra water just keep covered for 10 minutes.
2. Meanwhile,heat oil in a pan & add mustered seeds,when it splutter add chillies,fry & add chanadal,uraddal & fry for few secs & then add peanuts and fry till all turns golden brown & add curry leaves & turmeric powder & mix.
3. Now add soaked poha,salt,sugar & mix well,next add lemon juice & mix,
4. Lastky garnish with grated coconut & coriander leaves.
5. Serve.
