Dal rice,made by using toor dal & rice,actually i was thinking what to do for dinner ,so i prepare rasam,dal or bisibelebhath like that but today i tried this dish the recipe i got from one of my friend,this rice you can make any way which is convenient to you for eg., in cooker,stove top or rice cooker any thing,here i cooked by using electric rice cooker.so here it is my version of makin dal rice 😊
Ingredients
1 cup rice
1/2 cup toor dal ( you can add little less)
1 medium size onion ( you can use two)
1 tomato
Salt as per taste
Sugar little
Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp ( optional)
For tadka
1 tsp oil
1 tsp ghee
1 tsp mustered seeds
1/2 tsp jeera
Curry leaves
1-2 red chillies
2-3 green chillies slitted
Coriander leaves
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Method
1. Finely chop onion & tomato & keep.
2. Soak dal & rice in sufficient water for 1/2 hr
3. In a pan heat oil & ghee together & make seasoning & fry then add chopped onion & fry for few minutes & add chopped tomatoes & fry until semi soft then add soaked rice & dal & fry for few
minutes & pour into rice cokker container & add 1: 3 & little more water & add salt & sugar & mix well and add red chilli powder ( optional) & mix well & close the lid & ccook in slow cook option.
4. When done remove & mix it once again if tangyness is less you can add little lemon juice .
5. Garnish with coriander leaves & serve hot with any side ( optional)
Note; this recipe you can also make in normal pressure cooker also in the same way but adding water may be little different.
