ಸಿಹಿ ಕುಂಬಳಕಾಯಿ ಗೊಜ್ಜು
Sihikumbala kai means sweet pumpkin,variety of dishes are prepared by this vegetable,like sambar,rotti,curry etc.,here i have prepared gojju it is thick gravy which can be served with rice,or as side dish for dosa,idli,roti etc.,it is very tasty & prepared with few ingredients,usually i prepare ladies finger gojju or mango gojju but in different way whuch i got recipe from my mom,but here this recipe i got from one blog,so thought to try,here i have made little variation,it was very tasty.so let us start...
Ingredients;
1 cup chopped sweet pumpkin
For grinding;
1 tbsp of chana dal
5-6 red chilli
Little fenugreek seeds
Little less than 1/2 cup grated coconut
For tadka;
1/2 tbsp ghee
1 tsp mustard seeds
Curry leaves
Pinch of asafoetida
Others;
Salt
Jaggery little
Tamarind paste 1 tsp
Method:
1. Cook chopped sweet pumpkin in a vessel by adding water ( water only for immersing pumpkin) until it is quite chopped,we don't want mushy.
2. In a pan dry roast things given under grinding & grind to smooth paste by adding coconut & sufficiant water.
3. Add grinded paste to cooked pumpkin & continue boiling until raw smell disappear then add salt,jaggery & tamrind paste & mix & boil for another 3-4 minutes & remove from flame.
4. Make tadka & add to gojju & mix.
5. Serve hot with rice.
