SEEMEAKKI IDLI


                                                                 ಸೀಮೆಆಕ್ಕಿ  ಇಡ್ಲಿ

Cooking time 15-20 mins
Seemeakki or sabudana or javarsi or tapioca.or sago, Normally used for binding purpose in dishes,because it is sticky in nature when you cook it,but it is very healthy too.& now a days we prepare many kinds of dishes fro this like kheer,khichdi etc.,here i have used to prepare idli,in previous post i think i have posted kheer recipe.this recipe i got from one of the blog,here we don't  use urad dal or rice as regular idli we make we use only idli rava & sago or seemeakki.it is very easy & very tasty too.

Ingredients ;

1 cup idli rava
1/2 cup seemeakki or sabudana
Approximately 2&1/2 cups of curd
Water if required
Salt as needed

Seasoning

1 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustered seeds
1 tbsp broken cashews

Others:
2-3 finely chopped green chillies
Curry leaves finely chopped
Coriander leaves finely chopped
1/2 cup grated coconut
Soda1/4 tsp

Options;
Carrot grated

Method:

1. In a bowl take idli rava & sabudana & add salt & soak with curds,( u can soak overnight or @ the

day) (firstly,do not put all curds @ one take,add little by little curds & check the consistency of batter
It should be like rava idli batter not too thick or not too thin)& curds & mix well & cover & keep it over night or 3-4 hrs.

2. After soaking add grated coconut,& make tadka & mix to the batter & add green chillies,curry leaves & coriander leaves & mix finely without any lumps here if you need u can add little water.then lastly  add soda & stir finely & immediately  pour into greased idli plates.

3. Steam idlies for 15-20 minutes or until done ( if u insert a spoon it should come out clean)

6. Serve hot with chutney or sambar
