Prep time 10-12 minutes
Cooking time 10 minutes

Onion paratha this is also one of the north indian dish,usually parathas are made in varieties,for example; plain paratha,aloo paratha,gobi paratha,mooli paratha & inion paratha etc.this is also a kind of chapathi which is stuffed with different fillings.this you can make by stuffing or by mixing each & everything together & make dough & make parathas,usually,parathas are surved with pickle & curd but there is no any rule but you can also serve with any other gravies.this is easy to make & also very tasty.

Ingredients

For chapathi or outer cover,

1 cup wheat flour
1 tbsp oil/ghee
Salt as needed
Warm water as needed to make dough

Filling/stuffing

Onion finely chopped/grated 2 cups
Chilli powder 1 tsp
Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
Garam masala 1/2 tsp
Sugar 1/4 tsp ( optional)
Salt
Coriander leaves chopped 2 tbsp
Kasoori methi crushed 1/4 tsp
Jeera 1 tsp

Method

a) stuffing:

1. Add pinch of salt for chopped onions & mix & keep aside for few minutes ( this is because by nature it contains water in it so to remove the water)

2. After sometime squeeze all water from onion & keep( note; you can keep the squeezed water to make dough)

3. In a bowl mix onion,& all other things given under stuffing ( note: while adding salt be careful because remember that you have added to onion to remove extra water in it & also u are adding to dough also) mix nicely & keep ready.

b) dough;

1. In a bowl take wheat flour with salt & oil/ghee & mix well then add little by little water & knead to soft dough & keep covered ( note: here you can add onion squeezed water also).

c) making of Parathas;

1. Make equal balls of dough & stuffing both & keep ready.

2. On a roller board take one ball of dough & roll into small disc & keep the stuffing in middle & cover it all sides carefully that the stuffing doesn't come outside.

3. Dip it in dry flour & carefully roll into medium disc shape . Don't worry if little stuffing comes out.

4. Heat tava & put the rolled paratha & cook for few minutes both the sides until dark spots appear.

5. Smear little oil or ghee & cook.

6. Serve hot with pickle or curd or any other side.

7. Enjoy.

Note: one more method of making this paratha is instead of stuffing you can mix every thing including onion to wheat flour only. & make dough & continue as usual to make parathas.
