PANCHAM DAL

                                                   ಪಂಚಮ್  ದಾಲ್ 

As the name says it is dal made by using five types of Dals,this is a Rajasthani dish,i was willing to try some other type of dal,so when i was browsing i got this recipe & thought it is quite interesting,so tried this,it is a staple food of Rajasthan,it is also called as panckuti dal,this is usually served with dal 

bhati,another popular dish.this dal is very easy to prepare & very tasty also i got this by Archana's kitchen,i liked it very much,you can serve with plain white rice,roti,dosa etc...here i served with 
beans pulao.recipe is here :)

Ingredients:
Equal proportion of Toordal,channa dal,urad dal,moong dal & masoor dal totally 1 cup
Red chillies 2-3
Green chillies 2
Tomatoes small 2 chopped finely
Ginger grated 1"
Jeera 1 tsp
Bay leaves 1big
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Garam masala 1tsp or little less than
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Pinch of hing
1 tsp amchur powder 
1/2 tsp lemon juice ( optional)
Little jaggery for taste
1 tbsp ghee

Method


1. Soak all dals in water for 1/2 hr to 1 hr

2. Cook dals with sufficient water in pressure cooker until it is soft

3. Heat ghee in a vessel & add jeera,after it is crackled add bay leaves & add red chillies followed by green chillies,fry for few seconds then add ginger & fry lastly add chopped tomatoes & cook until it becomes soft then add turmeric powder.

4. Then add coriander powder,garam masala,hing,amchur powder & salt & jaggery & mix until all blend together.

5. Lastly,add cooked dal & bring to boil for few minutes ,combine everything & see the consistency .if it is little thick you can add little more water.if you add extra water,check the taste & adjust...

6. Garnish with coriander leaves

7. Serve hot with pulao,white rice or roti etc....
