HORSE GRAM DOSA

   
                                                                              ಹುರಳಿ ಕಾಳಿನ  ದೋಸೆ

Huralikalu means horse gram in english,this is also one type of lentil like green gram etc,from this we can prepare many dishes & even combined with other main dishes also like we can make

rasam,sambar by adding with some vegetables,idli,dosa etc.. Here i prepared dosa,even i have prepared idli also it is very healthy & tasty too,kids usually don't like all these type of lentils to have in their daily food so if we make like this they will also like it to have & this dosa is very easy to make as regular dosa.you can't find out that it is horse gram dosa,really it is very crispy & tasty dosa.so comeon we will look some health benefits of  horse gram:It is also called as horse gramkulthi beanhuraliMadras gram .The whole seeds of horse gram are generally utilized as cattle 
feed. However, it is consumed as a whole seed, as sprouts, or as whole meal in India, popular especially in southern Indian states.it is called in different names in different states in India,i will mention different names in next recipe,Horse gram is a reddish brown legume with many health benefits. It is rich in taste and at the same time provides you many nutritional benefits. Hence it is one
 of the favorite food for all type of people. it has rich amounts of proteins, vitamins and iron it is believed that it can reduce the extra fats in the body along with the help of reducing weight. It is having good amounts of B-complex vitamin and proteins.  It aids in purifying menstruation and prevents and cures the arthritis. The high amount of dietary fiber present in the horse gram balances the blood pressure and sugar glucose levels.



ಹುರಳಿ ಕಾಳು /Horse Gram


Ingredients

1 cup raw rice
Hand or fist full of urad dal
Little less than 1/4 cup methi seeds
2Tbsp channa dal
1/3 cup horse gram

Method

Soak rice separately , & soak other things together for 5-6 hrs,

Grind rice to smooth paste & keep





Then grind other things to smooth paste adding sufficient water & mix all evenly & live it ferment overnight.

Next morning add salt & mix it again.

Heat a griddle & sprinkle some water to moderate heat & pour a laddle full of dosa batter & spread evenly & sprinkle some oil & cover with lid & cook until it turns to golden brown & crisp.




Then remove & serve with your favourite side dish & enjoy.
