PONGAL

ಪೊಂಗಲ್ 
Pongal is south indian dish,usually in sankranthi or pongal festival we prepare this both spicy & sweet pongal, now a days it has become usual daily dish were all prepare in regular days also it is very tasty & easy preparing dish,normally every one like,main two things we use in this that is rice & moongdal,this is all time favorite for my daughter,today i prepared this here it i....
Ingredients.                  
                                                     
1 cup rice
1/2-3/4 cup moongdal
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
1-2 tsp black pepper corsly powdered
Salt
Jaggary little
Curry leaves

Seasoning
Ghee 1 tbsp
Mustered seeds 1 tsp
Jeera 1/2 tsp ( optional)
Dry red chilli 1-2 broken
2 green chilli slitted
Cashews few
Few whole black pepper

Others;
Lemon juice 1 tbspCoriander leaves
1/4 cup grated coconut

Method

Cook rice & moongdal adding turmeric & water ( upto 2&1/2 to 3 cups)in a cooker.for 3-4 whistles .

Keep  the seasoning ready.

After rice & dal is cooked ( it should be little mushy)put in a vessel & bring to boil & add
salt,jaggery, & black pepper powder  & mix if it is too thick adjust consistency by adding little more water let it come to one boil & switch off the flame.

Add seasoning & mix,

Add lemon juice & mix & garnish with coriander leaves.& grated coconut.

Serve hot with tamrind gojju or gravy .



Note;
When you add extra water please check salt & pepper once more.
