BABRU

Friends,as you all know i have started to try Himachal Pradesh recipes,in last post i have posted one gravy recipe called 'pahari aloo palda'now i am posting another recipe from same place,this is like our poori type,but stuffed poori,urad dal paste is stuffed inside the poori,you can't even find out that it is stuffed poori,actually,this is the first recipe which i tried stuffing the poori,but it came out very well & good taste.but friends i am very poor in rolling poori dough so please don't mistake by seeing picture.really it was very tasty so you also try once,you like it...
Ingredients

1 cup wheat flour
Little less than 3/4 cup maida or all purpose flour
Salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
Water for making dough

For stuffing
1/2 cup urad dal ( soaked over night)

Oil for deep frying

Method

Soak urad dal overnight,next day grind into coarse paste ( little) ( do not add water) & keep ready

Mix maida,wheat flour,salt & baking powder in a bowl & mix & add little by little water & knead to smooth & soft dough & keep for 15-20 minutes covered.

Make medium size balls with dough.

Take chapathi roller & rolling pin & take one ball of dough & make bowl type in your palms & fill with 1 tbsp of stuffing & cover all sides like modak,& roll into medium size poories & keep.

Heat oil for deep frying & put one by one poories & fry until golden brown.

Serve hot with  pahri aloo subji.& enjoy.
