ಬೆಂಡೆಕಾಯಿ ಹುಳಿ
Last post i had posted pine apple rasam ( you can see in rasam varieties) now i am posting ladies finger sambar...
Ingredients
Ladies finger 2 cups
Tamrind 1 medium size lemon
Jaggary as you wish
Salt
Toordal 1/4 to 1/2 cup
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
For grinding
Oil 1/2 tsp
Urad dal 1 tsp
Mustered seeds 1/4 tsp
Cinnamon 1/2"
Jeera 1 tsp or 1/2 tsp
Coriander seeds 2-1/2 tsp
Dry red chilli 5-6 or as per spicy
Curry leaves few
Grated coconut 1/2-1 cup
Hing pinch ( optional)
Seasoning
Oil 1 tsp
Mustered seeds 1 tsp
Curry leaves few
Dry red chillies 1-2 broken
Method
In a pan heat oil & add all seasonings & fry then add cut ladies finger & fry for few minutes or until the stickiness goes,then add tamrind water & cook until ladies finger is cooked ( it should not over cook)
Mean while,roast all things given under roasting by adding oil,& grind into paste adding grated coconut.
When ladies finger is cooked add the masala paste & add water if needed ,& mix then add salt,jaggary & mix well & let it boil few more minutes,
Remove & serve hot with rice.
