DAL TADKA ( resturent style)


                                                                   ದಾಲ್ ತಡಕ
Dal tadka is north indian,it is like rasam type which we usually prepare,this dal tadka is made fromtoor dal  ,these dals are made using all types of dals,this dal tadka is ,it tastes like resturent type,you can serve as side to chapathi,naan,roti etc....

Ingredients

1 cup toordal
2-3 cups of water
1 small onion chopped
1 small tomato chopped
Ghee 1 tbsp
1-2 green chillies
1-2 dry red chilli
Curry leaves
1/2-1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp jeera
Pinch of hing ( optional)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp kasuri methi slightly crushed
Salt
Lemon juice ( optional)
Water as required

Method

Cook toor dal with turmeric with 2-3 cups of water & mash it & keep ready ( mashing is optional)

In a vessel heat ghee & add jeera & fry after it splutters add green chillies & red chillies ,hing & fry next add curry leaves & ginger garlic paste ( garlic is optional) & mix now add chopped onions & fry until it turns golden brown in colour,next add tomato & cook until tomato is tender.then add cooked dal & add salt, & mix now add red chilli powder & live it to boil for few minutes & remove . if you want still more tanginess you can add lemon juice.

Garnish with kasurimethi & serve hot with rice,rotties,etc....
