Actually i was searching for another biscuits recipe,I noticed this karachi biscuits recipe and thought of trying this & it came out very well & tasty too.this biscuit is also called as osmania biscuits & got it from tastein.com here it is...
Ingredients;
1/2 cup of butter
1 cup of all purpose flour or maida
1/2 cup of powdered sugar
1/4 tsp of salt & more for sprinkling on biscuits
1 tbsp of custard powder
1 tbsp of milk powder
1/4 tsp of baking powder
Pinch of cardamom powder ( optional)
1 or little more tbsp of milk
Dalda 1 tbsp for kneading
Method;
1. Pre heat the oven on 185 dig ( as in recipe) ( it may differ in other ovens) in mine it is 175 dig cent., for 5-8 minutes.
2. In wide bowl cream butter & sugar powder until creamy then add baking powder & mix & add
milk & custard powder & mix well until it combines well then add flour little by little & mix & lastly add dalda & mix
3. Now add little by little milk & knead to soft dough,( here you can keep the dough in refrigerator for ten to fifteen minutes to make it stiff dough & roll it & cut into equal shapes) .
4. Arrange on a greased baking tray by making equal sized balls leaving gap inbetween the two biscuits & finally brush little milk & sprinkle salt on all biscuits.
5. Bake for 15 minutes or until it starts to change into brown colour .
6. Remove & cool on a wire rack until done & store.
7. At this stage it will be little soft but no worry it will be in cirrect texture when it cools.
8. These biscuits are soft & crunchy & little salty in taste.
