Peas or batani in kannada,peas pulao,very easy to make & very tasty,in last post i have posted peas pudina pulao,here i have used only peas & prepared this rice,here you can use both kind of rice that is basmathi or regular rice,anything it is good. Green peas normally you get both dried & fresh one,if you use fresh one it is really tasty,you can use frozen peas also,if you want to use dried soak it for 1-2 hrs & cook.green peas has many health benefits like,they are very good source of vitamin K,vitamin B1,vitamin C,etc., and good source of dietary fiber,peas are low fat & low calorie so it is good for weight loss,it enhances immunity,& improves digestion....... ( google info.,)
Ingredients;
1 cup fresh or frozen peas ( i used fresh one)
1-1/2 cup of cooked rice ( basmathi/regular)
1 medium sized onion finely chopped
2-3 green chillies finely chopped
Salt as oer taste
Ginger paste 1/4 tsp
Garlic paste ( option)
Pinch of sugar
Seasoning;
Oil 1 tsp
Ghee 1 tsp
Jeera 1 tsp
Clove 1-2
Cinnamon 1" piece
Cardamom 1 pod
Bay leaf 1-2
Method :
1. Cook rice & keep ready.
2. Boil peas until soft and keep ready.
3. In a pan heat oil & ghee then add all things given under seasoning & fry then add finely chopped onions & green chillies & fry for few minutes.
4. Then add cooked peas & mix,add cooked rice & mix ,now add salt,sugar & mix.
5. Now add lemon juice & mix.
6. Lastly garnish with coriander leaves & serve.
Note;
1. I forgot to mention to add ginger & garlic,please add while seasoning.
2. Lemon juice 1 tbsp you can add or as per taste.
