SWISS BUTTER COOKIES


                                                    ಸ್ವಿಸ್ ಬೆಣ್ಣೆ ಬಿಸ್ಕತ್ತು

Pre., time 10-12 minutes
Freezing time; 30 minutes
Baking : 15 minutes
Swiss cookies or biscuit ,this recipe actually i got from one recipe book,which i bought long ago,yesterday i was feeling bore & saw this book & sat to read ,while reading i got this recipe,actually this one is with egg recipe,but i made it eggless & it came out verywell.for eggless cookies adding milk instead of egg,this tip i got frim vareh vah ,sanjay tumma chef.thank you sir.
This cookie us very easy & very tasty too,little similar to our benne biscuit .but tasty cookies

Ingredients:

1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
1/4 cup fine sugar ( castor sugar)
1& 3/4 cup maida/all purpose flour/plain flour
2 tbsp corn flour / corn starch
1 tbsp ground almonds
Milk as needed to make stiff & soft dough

Method;
1. Put the butter in large mixing bowl & beat until smooth & creamy.

2.   Add sugar &  mix well until completely in corporated & become light & creamy & peaks are formed.

3. Sift. Flour & cornflour over the creamy butter mixture,( sifting makes to remove lumps & incorporate well making your cookies lighter) then add grounded almonds & mix well.

4.add little by little milk & start making dough,until all mixture should come together like chapathi dough & knead it finely & roll into a ball & cover with cling wrap & keep in fridge & chill for 30 minutes.( milk needed approximately 2-3 tbsp)

5. After the dough is chilled remove from fridge & in mean while pre-heat oven @ 180 deg cent., for 5-8 minutes,& take baking trays & grease & put butter paper & keep ready ( you need two trays)

6. Take the chilled dough & on a clean & lightly floured surface roll the dough to 1/8 inch thick,cut the dough to desired shape by cookie cutter or any small or medium lid & arrange in baking tray living little gap inbetween the cookies.

7. Bake in pre-heated oven for 15 minutes or until the sides starts to change colour for golden.

8. Leave the cookies in tray after removing from oven for 5 minutes & then cool on wire rack.

9. Store in airtight box & enjoy with tea or coffee.
