STUFFED POORI WITH POTATO CURRY


                                                                  ಪಲ್ಯ ತುಂಬಿದ ಪೂರಿ
Prep., time 15-20 mins
Frying 3-4 mins each poori
Stuffed pooris is the poori stuffed with potato masala or curry or palya,normally we do  plain poories,now a days even in poories also we do varities like palak poori,ahwain poori,,pudina poori,dal poori potato stuffed poori etc.....this is our imagination & innovation to make different changes in our daily cooking.....today i tried this stuffed poori for first time,usually i was making palak poori which is my daughter's fav., & ajwain poori & plain asusual.....but today i tried this it came out very nice & tasty...you can pack for kids lunch box also,for this poori you don't need any side dish,it is itself very tasty because we have stuffed potato curry inside.otherwise you can also
prepare any side like i prepared peas kurma or masala or sagu.....

Ingredients;

For chapathi/poori dough

1 cup wheat flour
Salt
Water as needed for kneading dough

For stuffing

2 medium potatoes boiled & skin removed & mashed
2 medium small onions finely chopped
Salt
Curry leaves
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustered seeds
1/2 tsp chana dal
1/4 tsp urad dal
1&1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp ginger finely grated
Sugar for taste
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp lemon juice

Method
1. Make chapathi dough or poori dough & keep ready.

2. Boil potatoes & mash it & keep ready.

3. Finely chop onions & keep ready.

4. Heat oil in a pan & add mustered seeds when it splutters add  channa dal & urad dal & fry until golden brown & add curry leaves & fry then add chopped onions & fry until it changes its colour.

5. Add turmeric powder & mix & add mashed potato & salt & sugar & mix thoroughly & remove.

6. Add lemon juice & coriander leaves & mix well & keep ready

7. Make equal size balls of chapathi dough ( it should be little small balls) for one stuffed poori you need two equal sized ball of dough.

8. Take one ball & roll it to medium circle & keep the take one more & roll into circle & fill with 1 spoonful of potato curry & cover with another dough circle which you have kept ready & seal it tightly & take one sharp edge bowl & cut the extra sides..

9. Follow same for remaining dough..keep ready.

10. Heat oil in a pan fir deep frying poories.&insert one  stuffed poori into the oil & deep fry carefully that stuffing will not open,fry until both tye sides turn golden briwn,do the same with all poories.

11. Serve hot & enjoy...
