OATS PADDU


I was searching for any new breakfast recipe,became bore of making same thing,while i was
browsing i got this recipe from one of the blog really i was surprised!!! Oats Paddu! Ok,usually paddus are made by using batter of idli or dosa & i soak seperetly   Soak for paddu making,i know this much but Oats Paddu! So i thought i will give a try today,ya it was very easy to make & very healthy too.:) i liked it.so here is the recipe...

Things used

Instant oats 1 cup
Rice flour 1/2 cup
Curd ( little sour) 1/2 cup or little more
Water as needed for making batterpouring consistency
Salt
Pinch of sugar ( optional)
Eno fruit salt 1/2 tbsp

For seasoning
Oil 1 tbsp
Mustered seeds 1 tsp
Jeera 1/2 tsp
Urad dal 1/2 tsp
Channa dal 1 tsp
Medium onion 1 chopped finely
Curry leaves chopped finely one string
Green chillies 4-5 chopped finely
Carrot small one grated
Ginger 1/4 tsp grated ( optional)
Coriander leaves 1 tbsp

Method

1. In a wide bowl mix rice flour,oats,salt & curds & mix then add water little by little & make into pouring consistency it should not be too thin or thick,it will be little like idli batter.keep aside.

2. In a pan heat oil and add mustered seeds jeera & when it splutters add green chilli & fry then add
curry leaves & fry then add chopped onion & fry until transparent then add grated carrot,ginger & fry for few minutes until carrot changes its colour.then switch off the flame.

3. Pour the seasoning to the batter & mix well then add salt & eno fruit salt & mix immediatly  check the  consistency  of the batter.

4. Heat paddu tava & brush with oil & pour one spoon full of batter to all holes of the tava & sprinkle some oil & cover & cook.after one side is done turn it upside down & cook again for few more minutes or until it turns golden brown.

5. Remove & serve hot with any gravy or chutney
