BARNYARD-UUDALU MILLET PONGAL


Barnyard millet is also called as uddalu in kannada


Ingrediants:

1 cup of barnyard millet

1/2 cup or little more moongdal

Salt

Pepper

Pepper powder

Jeera

Jeera powder

Ginger paste

Little jaggary for taste

Mustard seeds

Ghee

Curry leaves

Coriander leaves

Green chilli 1 or 2 slitted

Turmeric powder


MMethod;

Clean millet and soak for few minutes

Heat ghee in a cooker and add mustered seeds and jeera and live to crackle.then add green chillies and ginger and pepper and fry then add curry leaves and casews and fry until done .

Now add moongdal and fry until nice aroma comes out. Then add millet and mix then add salt,jaggary,and turmeric powder and mix then add jeera powder and pepper powder and mix well then add 3 to 4 cups of water and mix then cover and cook until done upto 4 to 5 whistle.

Remove when steam releases then mix onceagain and add ghee and serve hot .
