NAVANE IDLI AND DOSA ( foxtail millet)

Navane is called as fox tail millet in english & navane in kannada & very healthy too.ya ,no doubt all types of millets are very healthy,it is rich in carbohydrates which provides energy & rich in dietary fiber & minarals,this millet can be ysed for many dishes & also can be mixed with other ...here i have used foxtailmillet idli rava as we normally use idli rava for regular idlies,it was soft & tasty,from this batter you can prepare not only idli you can make dosa,paddu also or uttappam....

Ingredients;

1 cup urad dal
2 cups foxtailmillet idli rava
Little less than 1/4 cup of poha
1/4 tsp of methi seeds

Method;
1. Soak poha & uraddal together with,methi seeds  & foxtailmillet for 4-5 hrs ( add water which only immerse the idli rava not too much)

2. Firstly grind uraddal & poha to smooth paste by adding little water then take that batter in a bowl & next grind foxtailmillet idlirava to smooth paste no need to add water ,( if there is water remaining remove that and grind) mix both rava paste & urad dal paste & add salt & keep for fermentation over night.

3. Next day asusual make idlies until done ( 8-9 minutes).

4. Remove & serve with your favourite side .

5. If batter remains store in fridge ( becaz it becomes sour soon) & next you can prepare dosa or paddu from that batter.

6. Normally when idli is done it will be little sticky feeling ,leave it for few minutes & remove from idli moulds.

7. Dosa will be little crisp & very soft.
