ಆಲೂಗೆಡ್ಡೆ ಪಲ್ಯ
Potato curry,this curry usually prepared for stuffing or as side dish for masala dosa,which is very tasty & easy to prepare.without aloo masala there is no masala dosa....mmm...yummy,i & my daughter like this curry very much,but weight watchers mmm....sad .:-(. But still once in a while its ok i think ;-) .ha ha... This curry is also used for making bombay bonda or bajji,you can also make samosa's by stuffing this masala.so now we shall see what all things used....
Things used;
2-3 medium large potatoes
2-3 medium onions
1/4 cup peas ( i use usually frozen)
For tadka;
1&1/2 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp chanadal
1/2 tsp urad dal
Few curry leaves
5-6 green chillies
1/2" ginger
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Others
Salt as per taste
Sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
For garnishing ;
Coriander leaves
Grated fresh coconut ( optional)
Method;
1. Cook potatoes & remove the skin & mash it without any lumps
2. Chop onions finely .
3. Heat oil in a pan & add mustard seeds,when it splutters add chanadal,uraddal,fry until golden brown in colour,then add green chilli & curry leaves & fry.
4. Add onions and fry until it changes colour & add peas & cook for few minutes then add cooked potatoes,turmeric powder & mix well.add salt ,sugar & mix well.remove from stove.
5. Add lemon juice,coconut & mix lastly garnish with coriander leaves.
6. Serve with masala dosa or plain dosa or chapathi roti .....
