OM BISCUIT



Om or ajwain biscuit,it is very tasty biscuit,when we were kids these biscuits were sold in iyengari bakeries. & we liked it very much,now also you can get this biscuits kids & elders both usually like this biscuits,we can smell ajwain aroma ,& om or ajwain or saunf is also healthy,   This is commonly used in many dishes we prepare,it is also called as carrom seeds,ajwain,om kalu,it beats indigestion,it prevents hicupps instantly,it is very effective for gastric etc.,....



                                                                   ಓಂ ಕಾಳು / ಅಜವೈನ್


Ingredients

1 cup all purpose flour or maida
1 tsp or little more ajwain
5 tsp sugar
1 tsp yeast
4tbsp lukewarm water
1/2 tsp salt
3&1/2 tbsp oil

Method


Step 1In a bowl mix sugar Luke warm water & yeast & keep asideforfewmins or until it frothy in kind Or

Step 2If it is rapid rise yeast you can mix it directly to the flour mixture.

Step 3In another bowl mix a.p.f,ajwain & salt & mix well then add oil & yeast mixture and make a soft dough and knead it for7- 8 mins

Step 4Then grease the bowl & keep the dough & cover & keep in warm place for 1-2 hrs or until it is double in size.

Step 5After it is double in size,take out & knead it for another5-6 mins And roll it to medium size rope & arrange on a greased baking tray & cover & live it for another 30mins to 1 hr,or until it again raises.


Step 6Pre heat the oven @ 180 digfor5 mins

Step 7Keep the baking tray & bake for 15-20 mins or until golden brown.( when you take out it will be little soft when it cool it becomes hard & crispy)

Step 8Take out from oven & keep it for cool & store in airtight container .
