POHA CUTLET



I made ಅವಲಕ್ಕಿ ಒಗ್ಗರಣೆ ,(poha) when i soaked poha it was more in quantity so i was thinking what to do so i got one recipe about this ,so i prepared poha cutlet that evening.


Ingredients

Soaked poha / ಅವಲಕ್ಕಿ  1 cup
Potatoes cooked & mashed 2
Jeera 1 tsp
Green chilli chopped 2-3
Red chilli powder 1/2-1 tsp or as required
Turmeric powder pinch
Onion chopped finely one
Curry leaves 1 tbp
Coriander leaves 1 tbsp
1/2 lemon
Salt
Bread crumbs 1/4 cup or more
Few broken cashews
Sugar pinch ( optional)

Method

In a pan heat oil 1 tsp & add jeera & when it starts crackling add curry keaves,green chilli & fry then add onions & fry until golden brown then add turmeric powder & mix then add cooked & mashed potatoes & mix throughly then add soaked poha ,salt,little sugar for taste ( optional) chilli powder & mix well then add lemon juice & coriander leaves  & mix throughly & remove from stove.

Then make equal size balls of poha mixture keep ready

Heat a pan then take one ball of poha mixture & press lightly on your palms & roll on bread crumbs & put on pan & sprinkle some oil & shallow fry ( u can fry 1 or more together on one go) fry both side until golden brown.

Remove & put on kitchen towel & remove excess oil

Serve hot hot cutlets with any chutney or tomato or chilli sauce.
