HURALI KALINA SARU OR HORSEGRAM RASAM


                                                                     ಹುರಳಿ ಕಾಳಿನ  ಸಾರು 

Huralikalu is called horse gram in english,this is also very healthy,in this we can make sambar,usli,rasam etc., it is very tasty ,here i have made rasam by using horsegram...
Ingredients

Toordal 1/3 cup
1 cup huralikalu/horsegram
Rasam powder 1tbsp plus 1/2 tsp
Tamarind 1 small lemon size soaked in water
Salt
Jaggary little
Curry leaves
Hing ( optional)
Coriander leaves for garnishing

For grinding
1/4 cup grated coconut
Rasam powder ( mentioned in top)
Cooked horsegram 1-2 tbsp

Seasoning

1 tbsp ghee
Mustered seeds 1 tsp
Jeera 1 tsp

Method

Soak huralikalu/horse gram overnight

Cook soaked horse gram with toordal in cooker for 3 whistles or until  cooked

In a mixie jar take 1/4 cup coconut grated ,rasam powder,cooked huralikalu & grind into smooth paste.

In a vessal take remaining dal & huralikalu & bring to boil & add the grinded paste & mix then add turmeric powder,tanrind water,salt jaggry & curry leaves add sufficient water & live it to boil for 6-8 minutes or until nice aroma arises.

Then make seasoning & pour on rasam & garnish with coriander leaves 

Serve hot with rice or ragi mudde ( i have posted the recipe)
