Appe huli or mavinkai rasam or saaru,which is prepared by little tangy raw mango, & it is very tasty & very easy to prepare,this rasam is from north karnataka,manglore....it is served with white rice or can be served as soup.
Ingredients :
1 medium large tangy raw mango ( not too sour)
Salt
Jaggery 2 tbsp
For tadka/ oggarane
1 tbsp ghee
3-4 green chillies slitted
Curry leaves
Mustered seeds 1 tsp
Jeera 1tsp
Red chilli 1-2 broken
Method;
1. Cook raw mango in cooker or on stove top ( if you are cooking on stove top don't discard that water you can use this water for rasam)
2. After mango is cooked remove its outer skin & squeeze its pulp & keep or if you have cooked on stove top add this pulp to that & mix.or if you have cooked in cooker then in a vessel make tadka & add mango pulp & sufficient water & start boiling,then add salt & jaggery & mix .& live to boil for few more minutes & remove.
3. Garnish with coriander leaves.
4. Serve hot with rice.
Note; if you are adding to the water that you have cooked mango then no need of adding extra water.
Consistency is little watery .than asusual rasam.no dal...if you see the picture you will be knowing theconsistency.
